Terms of Service
Operated by MAMA minimart Mosquito Street, Morata 1, Morata ("we", "us"). Last updated 6 October 2026.
1. Who you are contracting with
By using Wantok Council you agree to these terms with MAMA minimart Mosquito Street, Morata 1, Morata. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
2. The service
Wantok Council is an online office for customary elders: arranging meetings, recording stories and meeting results in written, audio or video form, keeping a private records library, and printable meeting notes. Membership payments keep the service running, including AI meeting summaries, which members do not pay for separately.
3. Acceptance and accounts
By continuing to use the service you accept these terms. You must have authority to act for your organisation where you use it on its behalf, and you must be of legal age. Keep your sign-in credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate profile information and keep it updated.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. This includes unlawful use, fraud or spam, infringing other people's intellectual property, and interfering with the service's security (malware, probing, scraping). Do not record or share any story, meeting or person without the customary permission of those concerned.
5. Customary content and AI summaries
You keep ownership of the stories, recordings and notes you store. You give us a limited licence to host and process them only to provide the service to you. AI meeting summaries are produced by automated systems: outputs may be inaccurate, must be checked by the council before use, and are not suitable for legal or regulated advice without human oversight. You are responsible for what you record, what you prompt, and how you use outputs. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us and we will remove or restrict it; repeated infringement may end access.
6. Payment and subscription terms
Memberships are billed monthly or yearly through Paddle. For payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics, see Paddle's Buyer Terms and our refund policy. Membership is cancelled at any time and access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Prices are shown in Kina and charged in Australian dollars; the amount is confirmed at checkout before you pay.
7. Service level
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of important recordings and notes; the app lets you download them to your device.
8. Ownership
We retain ownership of the Wantok Council service and its intellectual property, including the software, documentation and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your selected plan. You may not reverse engineer it, resell or redistribute it, or circumvent its technical limits.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. When access ends, you can export your records for 30 days; after that we may delete them.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for purpose). Our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the previous 12 months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (lost profits, data, goodwill), except for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow exclusion.
11. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Papua New Guinea. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Papua New Guinea.
