Who controls your data
MAMA minimart Mosquito Street, Morata 1, Morata is the data controller for the Wantok Council service. We decide how your personal information is used; our hosting provider stores it on our instructions.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and Google sign-in identifier.
- Elder profile — your clan, tribe, language, village and region, if you choose to provide them.
- Your records — the meetings, stories, written notes, audio and video you store in your private workspace.
- Membership data — your subscription tier and status. Card numbers are handled by Paddle, our payment provider, and never reach us.
- Technical data — device identifiers, IP address and basic usage information needed to run and secure the service.
Why we use it
- To create your account and provide the service (contract performance).
- To keep your records private and secure (legitimate interests and contract).
- To process membership payments through Paddle (contract performance).
- To transcribe recordings and produce AI meeting summaries you request (contract performance; only signed-in members' content is processed, and customary terms are preserved as spoken).
- To improve and secure the service (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
- Service providers and subprocessors: our hosting and database provider, and our AI provider for the summaries you request.
- Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record, for the sale of memberships, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
- Authorities where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your records while your membership is active and delete or anonymise personal information when it is no longer needed. If your membership ends, you can export your records for 30 days before deletion.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact MAMA minimart Mosquito Street, Morata 1, Morata. You may also complain to the Papua New Guinea National Privacy Commissioner.
Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and row-level security so that your meetings, stories and recordings are visible only to you unless you choose to share them.
